Here is a sprawling piece I had the absolute privilege of working on in late 2020 with Aureate Films and BRAVE Baltimore. The onus behind this project was to address and educate first year university students on the immeasurably important subject of consent.
Originally split into six vignettes, we follow our characters on a little metaphor-heavy (and hopefully educational) road trip to the Grand Canyon. Check out the full final product below, along with a few early character designs AND that red sedan in all its glory.
I remember we found the character design process on this project particularly interesting/challenging because the client was after a tricky combination of personality and anonymity - they wanted our two hero characters to make an impact and be memorable, but also wanted to avoid distracting from the message. I’ll let y’all be the judge - did we succeed?
All I know is, the Opal Cadet is my dream car.
